Jeffrey Epstein, President
Mr. Epstein is President, General Counsel and Secretary of TerreStar Networks. He previously served as director, Assistant General Counsel, Transactions, for Capital One Financial Corporation. He worked for Piper Rudnick, LLP, and Kutak Rock, LLP, representing clients in corporate and securities matters. He served as a Staff Attorney in the United States Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Corporation Finance. Mr. Epstein earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida, a J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law, and an L.L.M. from Georgetown University Law Center.
Neil Hazard, CFO
Mr. Hazard has over 30 years of finance and operations experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to joining TerreStar, he served COO and CFO of publicly-held Primus Telecommunications Group, completing the company's initial public offering and four subsequent high yield debt offerings, a secondary equity offering, and a convertible debt offering totaling over $1.5 billion. He held finance and product marketing roles with MCI Communications Corporation. Additionally, he was CFO for Overseas Telecommunications, a start-up international satellite telecommunications carrier, and Assistant Vice President, Finance, for Hughes Network Systems. Mr. Hazard received a Bachelor of Engineering Science degree from Johns Hopkins University, a Masters of Science in Computer systems Manager from the University of Maryland, and an MBA from Harvard University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant.
Dennis Matheson, CTO
Mr. Matheson provides the technical direction and delivery for the satellite systems being developed for TerreStar Networks. Prior to joining TerreStar, Mr. Matheson was the Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer for Motient, providing the technical direction for all services. His responsibilities included the ground station development and satellite operations for the L-band spectrum. Mr. Matheson previously was the Senior Manager of Systems Architecture for Bell Northern Research, a subsidiary of Northern Telecom and a leading provider of telecommunications equipment for both wireless and wireline applications. He has also held various engineering positions with Texas Instruments. Mr. Matheson holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Clemson University and an M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee.
Alexandra Field, SVP, Regulatory and External Affairs
Ms. Field is responsible for TerreStar's regulatory affairs, external communications and government relations -- including corporate communications and licensing and compliance obligations with the Federal Communication Commission (FCC), the U.S. Department of Treasury, the U.S. Department of Commerce and other governmental agencies. Prior to joining TerreStar, she was Director, International Affairs for MCI Inc. Ms. Field held various roles at the FCC's International Bureau, including Assistant Division Chief, Policy Division; Senior Legal Advisor to the Bureau Chief; and Attorney Advisor in the Satellite Division and in the Common Carrier Bureau in the Competitive Pricing Division. She also worked for the Carnegie Commission on Science, Technology and Government. Ms. Field holds a B.A. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Harvard University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
Tim W. Atkinson, SVP and General Manager, Commercial Programs and Marketing
Mr. Atkinson manages TerreStar's Commercial Programs division and is responsible for the sales and marketing of TerreStar's commercial services; and the development of commercial distribution partnerships and strategic alliances. He brings over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and media industry in strategy, operations business development and technology enablement to TerreStar. Mr. Atkinson previously served as the VP of the Communications Sector in the US for CGI-AMS. He also founded and served as President of Solve Net, Inc, a Sales Management and Consultancy firm targeted in the Technology industry. Mr. Atkinson served as Senior Vice President at Cap Gemini America where he was Southeast Division Manager and was a member of the CGA US Operating Committee. He also served as Senior Manager-Practice Director of the Association Service Group at Ernst & Whinney. Mr. Atkinson received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration & Economics and an MBA, concentrating in Finance/Information Systems, from the University of South Carolina, Columbia.
Robert B. Gore, SVP, Government Programs
Mr. Gore is the Senior Vice-President for Government Programs responsible for the sales and marketing of TerreStar’s services to Federal, State and local governments and first responder and emergency management organizations. Mr. Gore is a career telecommunications industry executive with diverse experience in engineering, operations, product management, regulatory and business development. He has over twenty-five years experience in US domestic and international telecommunications including wireline, mobile and fixed wireless businesses. Before joining TerreStar, Mr. Gore held executive positions with Deutsche Telekom, CAI Wireless Systems, Inc. and Verizon Corporation (then Bell Atlantic). Mr. Gore holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Virginia Military Institute where he earned US Army ROTC and academic scholarships. He received his Masters of Business Administration from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Bill Sparks, VP, Human Resources
Mr. Sparks leads TerreStar's human resources function. Mr. Sparks has over 30 years of human resources management experience in the communications and technology industry. He has extensive experience in start-up, small and large global corporate environments, as well as expertise in joint venture, merger and acquisition and IPO activities. Prior to joining TerreStar he served as the Chief Human Resources Officer for Greenberg Traurig LLP, one of the nations top law firms. He previously served as Vice President Human Resources and Administration for Alcatel Data Networks world wide operations and held senior management positions with Telenet, Sprint, and Sprint International. As a private consultant, Mr. Sparks founded a human resources practice serving over 30 funded technology start-up enterprises. Mr. Sparks received a Bachelor of Psychology degree from James Madison University
